Working Together to Safeguard Children 2010 outlines in particular detail the recommended safeguarding children training for local practitioners.

For school DSLs (Designated Safeguarding Leads) the LSCB recommends that the Level 3 refresher should be taken every 2-3 years. In addition Level 3 course per year for the DSL, such as neglect or CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) and that they should be familiar with LADO guidance in managing allegations against staff and volunteers. Safeguarding Governors should also have Level 3 training as well as an understanding of LADO guidance.
